Cleopatra saved from the pound
This is Cleopatra, a young female galga we rescued from a pound in the province of Seville where she would have been put to sleep given the injury on one of her back feet and a small malformation on one of her front paws. Thankfully, we found out in time and were able to rescue her. She has an open fracture that needs to be operated upon and we desperately need donations to cover the cost. Cleopatra will also need a loving home where she can recover. Thank you in advance for your kindness to Cleopatra. She has been through so much!
Eli awaits a new home
Giorgia is safe at FBM
This four-month old female galga puppy, Giorgia, shares the same history as hundreds of galgos year after year but, thankfully, she was rescued by the local Baena police (Cordoba). According to area residents, she was beaten by several people prior to her rescue and, luckily for her, has no serious injuries, only a hurt paw. We hope with all our hearts that she recovers quickly and can be adopted by a family that will give her all the love she deserves.
Rescued in Almensilla, a galga with nine puppies
Yesterday morning, and after a week of intense searching in response to calls, we found this galga and were able to rescue her from an abandoned house in the Sevillan town of Almensilla. We brought her to our facility and she and her nine new pups are recovering.
Friend, rescued from a ditch thanks to the help of a cyclist
Friend, this young galgo would have found his tomb in a roadside ditch if it weren’t for the help of Antonio, a cyclist who was en route from Sanlucar la Mayor, Sevilla. As you can see, Friend fell in the 1.5m deep ditch and was unable to get out. We have no idea how long he was there, although from his condition, we assume it wasn’t too long before Antonio found him and contacted us.
